I saw a 24 year old man die this morning at 3:00 am. He wasnt wearing his seatbelt and crashed into a tree. I heard the report from the paramedics as they raced to get the person to the hospital. Ambulance is 10 minutes away and CPR had already been started. When they arrive, there were a team of doctors and nurses waiting. Paramedics, ER docs, surgeons, anesthesiologist, nurses, and med students all waiting to save a life. It was exactly as you see it in TV, on the show "ER", ordered chaos. As I saw the patient being wheeled in from the ambulance, I knew this person wasnt gonna make it. He didnt look right. I can still remember his face, youth, taken away, in an instant. We tried all we could.

Life,so fragile, one mistake, and its over. I cant help but think about how young this person was and how much life he had left to live. His parents, his friends, probably have no idea yet. Gonna call my bros and tell them i love them. Gonna spend time with my parents this weekend too. What if that person knew this was his last day on earth, I wonder if he would have gone to the bar tonight.

As i wander the hallways of the hospital, I just keep thinking about my life and where its going.
Am I making a difference in this world.....

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
Pager blowing up for the umpteenth time (sigh). . . someone needs me.
Time to make a difference.
